Delete your account
You can delete your ETeext account yourself, from the app, without asking anyone. This page explains where the button is, what disappears, what stays, and what to do if you can no longer reach the app.
Where to find it
Open ETeext, sign in, then open Settings using the cog icon, and go to the Account section, at the bottom. The button is called Delete my account.
A confirmation window opens first and sums up what is about to happen. Nothing is deleted until you confirm.
What is deleted
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no undo, and no grace period during which anything could be restored.
- Your account.
- The email address attached to it.
- Your plan status.
- Any trial still running, which is lost.
Your notes stay on this device
Your notes are not part of your account. They live in your browser, on the device where you wrote them — that is why they work offline, and why they never travel to us.
Deleting your account therefore leaves them untouched. To erase them as well, delete them from My Notes in the app. Clearing your browser data removes them too.
Invoices are kept
If you have ever paid for PRO, your invoices are kept. Accounting law requires it, and we have no say in the matter: an invoice is a business record, not account data. They are the one exception.
If a subscription is still running
As long as a PRO subscription could still charge you, deletion is refused. That refusal protects you: an account deleted mid-subscription would keep being billed, with no way left to stop it.
To stop it, open Settings → Account → Manage my subscription. That button takes you to your own space at our payment provider, where you can change your payment method or cancel. We do not cancel on your behalf — we open the door, and the provider does the rest.
A cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, not on the day you click: your PRO access runs until that date. Once it has ended, come back and delete the account.
If you cannot reach the app
If you can no longer sign in, or if a deletion did not go all the way through, write to us through our contact form and we will finish it.
Tell us the email address of the account. We may ask you to confirm from that address, so that nobody can delete someone else's account.
What we do with your data, and the rights you hold over it, are set out in our privacy policy.
