Terms of Service

1. The Service

ETeext is a Unicode text generator: it transforms the text you type into styled Unicode characters (fancy fonts, decorations, effects, symbols) that you can copy and use on social networks and other platforms. ETeext also offers optional AI-assisted features that use your own Google Gemini API key.

ETeext is offered in two plans:

• FREE — a selection of styles and features, free of charge.
• PRO — the full set of styles and features, available as a paid subscription.

Every new account starts with a 21-day free trial of PRO. When the trial ends, your account automatically switches to the FREE plan unless you subscribe. No payment details are required for the trial.

2. Accounts

You can use parts of ETeext without an account. To access the trial and PRO features, you must create an account with a valid email address, with a 6-digit code sent by email, or Google Sign-In.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since it is the key to your ETeext account.

3. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you subscribe to PRO, you purchase from Paddle, which handles billing, payment security, applicable taxes (such as VAT), invoices and receipts. Paddle's own terms apply to the payment transaction.

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: you keep PRO access until that date, and no further payment is taken.
• Prices are displayed before purchase. We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable advance notice; you are free to cancel before a new price applies.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use ETeext to:

• break any applicable law or regulation;
• harass, deceive or impersonate others, or spread spam;
• attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or to bypass plan restrictions.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. AI features and your API key

The AI features are optional and rely on your own Google Gemini API key, which is stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers. Your use of the Gemini API is subject to Google's own terms and pricing. AI-generated content can be inaccurate: you are responsible for reviewing anything you publish. ETeext is not responsible for AI outputs or for any costs incurred on your Google account.

6. Your content and intellectual property

The texts you type and the styled results belong to you. ETeext claims no rights over them.

The ETeext application, website, name, logo and design are the property of Denis Cadamuro and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to copy, resell or redistribute the service itself.

7. About Unicode rendering

ETeext produces standard Unicode characters. How those characters look — or whether they display at all — depends on the device, operating system, font and platform where the text is pasted. Some styles may appear differently, or show placeholder squares ("tofu"), on certain devices. This is a property of Unicode itself and not a defect of the service; the PRO subscription does not include any guarantee of rendering on third-party platforms.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep ETeext available and reliable, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what PRO includes, you remain free to cancel your subscription.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ETeext's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. ETeext is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data caused by third-party platforms, or the behaviour of third-party services (social networks, Google, etc.). Nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.

10. Termination

You can stop using ETeext and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account in case of serious or repeated violation of these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date below reflects the latest version. For material changes, we will inform you in the app or by email with reasonable notice. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain applicable. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, or of the courts your consumer law designates.
