Discord has no built-in fonts, so styled Unicode is the standard way to style your display name, messages, server and channel names and About Me — just not the ASCII-only username.
Styled Unicode usually works in these spots:
- messages ~2000 characters Premium
- your display name ~32 characters
- server names ~100 characters
- channel names ~100 characters
- your About section ~190 characters
- your custom status ~128 characters
Depends on your account — the message length is plan-gated: about 2,000 characters on a free account, about 4,000 with Discord Nitro.

Does styled text work everywhere on Discord?
Not always — it depends on the field. Some spots accept styled Unicode, others keep their own in-app fonts. Check the list above and preview with Safe Mode.
Why do some characters show as squares on Discord?
Some devices don’t have the glyph, so it appears as an empty square (“tofu”). ETeext’s Safe Mode swaps the riskiest characters for readable ones.
